Has Dr. Scott Ferguson told you that it’s time for a dental bridge? You may be wondering about the implications. Look no further!
A bridge is a non-removable oral appliance that serves as a replacement for one or more missing teeth in a row. It is fastened to your mouth by two crowns that are placed over the top of teeth adjacent to the gap. A typical bridge is made from sturdy porcelain shaded and molded to match the rest of your pearly-whites. It functions just as well as your natural teeth.
Depending on the state of your mouth, the process of getting a dental bridge may differ, but this is the idea:
First, Dr. Scott Ferguson will remove the enamel of your two anchoring teeth. This is in preparation for the crowns. Impressions or molds of your teeth will be brought to a dental laboratory. We’ll fit you with a temporary bridge to wear while your permanent bridge is made. Once the permanent bridge is finished, you’ll come back in the office and it will be cemented onto your teeth.
